By learning about the basic concepts and value of money, my perception of money completely crumbled and was rebuilt anew. This was significant for me. I felt that this is not limited to money alone but can also be applied to everyday life, so I started talking about it often with my son.

I had no knowledge of finance, but by taking the course, I could concretely understand what to do with household finances and my child’s education going forward. I am truly grateful for being taught such important things that will impact my future life.

It was a time when I was able to learn perspectives that I didn’t have within Japanese culture and have feelings I experienced living in America articulated for me, which helped things make sense and feel clearer. Since I had never studied these things before, I was deeply moved by the new insights. While differences in culture can be summed up in a few words, discovering the specifics of those differences was very fascinating.

I’m excited to talk about money with my child. I wish I could have received this kind of education when I was younger—for my own sake.

It was a really valuable opportunity to be taught in detail and Japanese about Western ways of thinking and educational content, and how children grow up with their values in different environments. I could only superficially encourage these actions out of a sense of obligation until I took this course. However, after taking the course and truly understanding the concepts, the way I spoke to my children changed naturally, and I feel that my children’s values and behaviors have also changed.

Since it was about money, I was quite tense, but I felt relieved that it could be done as an extension of conversations with my child. The ideas and knowledge were something I never had in the environment I grew up in, and I learned a lot.
